ATMOSPHERIC PASSAGE

About the work

Atmospheric Passage is a live electroacoustic work in which historical typhoon data from Taiwan becomes a set of behavioural conditions for a generative sound system. Rather than directly mapping meteorological values to individual sounds, the data shapes parameters such as stability, activity, density, and rate of change.

The cellist listens, responds, and adapts to an environment that is continuously transformed by the system. The work treats environmental data not as illustration, but as a temporal structure that can condition musical behaviour and redistribute control between performer and electronics.
